It's a Blessing to Meet You!

I am a Registered Nurse and an International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant. I have over 20 years of RN experience in Labor and Delivery and Postpartum Patient Care.  I have been asked many times to explain why I want to make the switch from RN to Doula. My answer is because I want to move away from the medical role and provide balanced and non-medical support that is only focused on YOU!  I want to support you with education, guidance and comfort during labor and beyond.  Pregnancy, labor and childbirth are natural and beautiful!  I love the all-natural process. I had two of my children with no epidural. In hindsight, I realize my labors would have been a much better experience with Doula support and education.  I want to help women to feel informed and empowered, while also being able to advocate for themselves. My experience leads me to a balanced approach because I can recognize and help women to understand that sometimes medical interventions are needed.  If necessary, I can refer them to their medical care providers for medical advice and interventions.  I am passionate about bridging the gap between women who want the most natural birth possible and medical providers who want to provide safe care.
