Provides Education
A Doula provides education so families can be prepared and empowered to make informed decisions about how they want to be cared for during their birthing experience and beyond. I will be available to you throughout your pregnancy for virtual support.
Provides Continuous Support
Doula support can start early in pregnancy and continue to the day of the birth and extend into the days and months after as needed. I would like to support the whole family. Physical support during labor with hands on support and comfort measures is key. Your Doula can help you with relaxation, breathing techniques and optimal positions for labor and birth. The support provided is flexible as labor progresses and is focused on your needs. I can also support you in the management of emotional processing associated with everything related to pregnancy, birth and postpartum. Postpartum services such as breastfeeding and infant care can also be provided to support the family beyond the pregnancy. Light & Love offers specialized breastfeeding support from and International Board Certified Lactation Consultant.
Bridges the Gap
Any birth can be positively influenced by Doula support. If you plan on an all natural delivery or even if you want an epidural or need a cesarean section, I am here to support YOU! A relationship is built and provides a connection between the family and the medical care team. Light & Love would like to help shine a LIGHT and bridge any gaps between you and your medical providers as you bring your little LOVE into the world!
