Provides Education
A birth and postpartum doula provides education so families can be prepared and empowered to make informed decisions about how they want to be cared for during their birthing experience and beyond. I will be available to you throughout your pregnancy for virtual support.
Provides Continuous Support
Doula support can start early in pregnancy and continue to the day of the birth and extend into the days and weeks after as needed. I would like to support the whole family. Physical support during labor with hands on support and comfort measures is key. Your doula can help you with relaxation, breathing techniques and optimal positions for labor and birth. The support provided is flexible as labor progresses and is focused on your needs. I can also support you in the management of emotional processing associated with everything related to pregnancy, birth and postpartum. Postpartum services such as breastfeeding support and newborn care can also be provided to support the family beyond the pregnancy and birth. Light & Love offers specialized breastfeeding support from and International Board Certified Lactation Consultant.
Bridges the Gap
Any birth can be positively influenced by birth doula support. If you plan on an unmedicated birth or even if you want an epidural or need a cesarean section, I am here to support YOU! Light & Love would like to help shine a LIGHT and bridge any gaps between you and your medical providers as you welcome your little LOVE into the world!
